About
Strategic operator. Organizational architect. 20+ years building what teams depend on but rarely see.
My Story
Twenty years inside organizations taught me one thing: the gap between a bold strategy and actual execution isn't a people problem. It's an infrastructure problem.
I've spent my career building what no one sees but everyone depends on. At Chegg, I served as right hand to the Chief Academic Officer through their GenAI transformation, translating strategic bets into cross-functional execution across product, academics, and support. At edX, I scaled operations for MOOCs reaching 14 million learners. At startups like Esme Learning and Ignis AI, I built the systems, teams, and rhythms from scratch.
The pattern was always the same: the vision existed, but the connective tissue to execute it didn't. So I built it. Meeting architecture. Reporting frameworks. Decision rights. Communication cadence. The human infrastructure that lets teams stop spinning and start shipping.
Caracara Ops is the practice I launched to bring that same capability to organizations in motion.
The name comes from the crested caracara, a raptor native to the Americas and found across Chile and much of Latin America. Technically a falcon, it behaves nothing like one. It walks the ground, scans from the highest perch, and is one of the most resourceful foragers in the raptor world.
It shows up early, adapts its approach to whatever the terrain demands, and thrives not by specializing but by reading the moment and doing what's needed. The bird felt like a natural namesake for a practice rooted in my Chilean heritage and my scrappy, adaptive approach to operations.
That's the spirit here: showing up early, staying grounded, seeing the full picture, and building what's needed with whatever's in front of you.
I'm most effective when I'm embedded: close enough to the work to understand the actual constraints, far enough outside the day-to-day to see the patterns. I bring a strong point of view, but I do my best work in collaboration. I'm not a consultant who hands you a deck. I'm an operator who builds alongside you.
I'm drawn to growth-stage companies because that's where the infrastructure gap is most costly and most solvable. Early enough that the systems are still being defined. Big enough that the dysfunction of not having them is starting to show.
If that sounds like your organization, I'd like to hear from you.
